UNIVERSITY OF JUSTICE

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and organized Catering Coordinator to support the University of Justice's catering program. This role involves assembling and preparing meals for our online students, coordinating with delivery drivers to ensure timely and efficient meal delivery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing quality service, good organizational skills, and an understanding of dietary restrictions and preferences.

About the Role

Responsibilities:

Meal Preparation: Assemble and prepare nutritious and appealing meals tailored to the dietary needs and restrictions of our online students.
Quality Control: Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.
Coordination with Delivery Services: Collaborate with delivery drivers to schedule and manage meal pickups, ensuring punctual deliveries to online students.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage food inventory, placing orders as needed to maintain adequate supplies and minimize waste.
Student Interaction: Communicate with online students to gather feedback on meal preferences and satisfaction, proactively addressing any issues or concerns.
Menu Development: Assist in developing weekly menus that reflect student needs, seasonal ingredients, and nutritional guidelines.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of meals prepared, inventory used, and feedback received to inform future catering operations.

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary or hospitality management training preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in catering, food service, or related field is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
    • Familiarity with dietary restrictions and nutrition guidelines.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of standard office software (e.g., MS Office) and experience with catering management software is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Working Conditions: This position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends during peak meal delivery times. The role primarily takes place in a kitchen setting and involves interaction with kitchen staff, delivery drivers, and students.
